Tech EDGE and Much More
With technology increasing advancing and many schools moving to a one to one program, it is important for teachers to stay on the edge of technology. Luckily for us thanks to Guy Trainin a YouTube channel has been set up to spread the word on technical. In the channel Tech EDGE there many videos that explain many different apps and how they can be applied in the classroom. These videos are not limited to one subject matter either. They cover many subject such as math, English, history, computer, and much much more. There are also many videos that just cover all subjects at once, such as presentation apps.
Nearpod
While watching videos I decided to download the app Nearpod that is used for presents. In this app a teacher can create an interactive presentation. The students can access the presentation on an iPad or laptop. Students can not move forward in the presentation with out the teacher. There are also slides that a teacher can add that will ask questions to the students. These questions can be multiple choice or fill in the blank. One of the best features is that the teacher can show how the class answered while keeping it anonymous. In the agriculture field this is a great way to see where the students are in all classes. You can use it in animal science and plant science. In my opinion this is a great way to keep the student interest in what they are learning. |
Piktochart
The next app that I decided to check out is called Piktochart. In this app presentation can be created and much more. I would use this for students to create presentation for a project in class. This app does have more freedoms when it comes the layout but I do like the questions you can use in the other app. I would also use this app for my students to create posters. The posters are a great way to show what the students know and show off their knowledge.

Project Noah
This app is great for for a wild life or biology class. In this app students get a chance to explore there surroundings. A teacher can send their students outside and have them catalog the biological surroundings. In this app you get the opportunity to type in your area and it will give you the wild live and plant life in the area. This would be a good app to use when teaching a wildlife preservation unit or a prairie life unit.
