Google+ Communities
The first community that really caught my eye was the agriculture community. As an agricultureal educator, it is important to have a grasp of agriculture as a whole. This is a great way to see the world of agriculture from many points of view. I like how there are so many points of view in this community. Agriculture has a huge impact on the world and needs many view points. I could use this in class to show my student the different aspects of agriculture. In one artical titled, These charts show why corn is king , it showed exactly what is says. The great part of the site I found is that is simplified the material to a teachable point. I would be able to send my students to this page knowing that they will be able to find the information that I ask of them. Off of this site I can also expect my student to be able to find other sight that they can use. The second thing I learned was that sources come from many different places. In an artical by Geekwire is tells of research from several universities.
The second community I found very useful was the Vocational Education and Training community. I really like how this community focuses on all aspects of jobs. They help each other with interviews and job placement. In the artical 5 Ways to Get a Job as a Welder I learned that the community really wants to expand. They know that it is important to have vocational education. They are also great at recruiting new students. I would use this community to encourage my students to continue on with education even if college is not for them. I also found in an article titled How Playing Can Help Children Learn. I find this to be an interest aspect of this community because they care about kids and educating them on vocational education.
