Shelly Fryer
Shelly Fryer is a teacher, author, speaker, and advocate for children. She is a great educator that has a huge focus on the use of technology in the classroom. In her blog post, Technology 101 skills for teacher, she hits on many great uses for technology in the classroom. A lot of these apps would be super helpful in one to one schools.
In one of her examples she shows how the use of a story book app called Book Creator. In this app students are able to create stories and show off what they have learned. This could be a great app to use no matter what grade level you are teaching. I myself will be teaching high school agricultural classes. I could use this app to have the students make an informational book that can show me what they learned.
Another great app she talked about was the use of a QR code. By using a QR code a teacher can add a lot more information to there slides. while going through class lectures the teacher can go on with lesson while giving the students a change to explore as they please. With the QR codes it can lead to extra notes, videos, or external web sites. There are many many uses for technology in a classroom.
