My name is Michael Jose Adame. I grew up in the town of Fallbrook, California, with my parents and older brother. My mom is from a rural town in Iowa called Exira and my dad is from a small town in Mexico. I didn’t grow up on farm, but from a young age I was fascinated by agriculture. When I was 9 years old I joined the local 4-H club so that I could show animals at the country fair. As soon as I started classes at Fallbrook High School, I joined the Future Farmers of America Organization (The National FFA Organization). From there my interests in agriculture flourished. During my time in high school I was in charge of the school’s Boer goat herd and raised cattle for the San Diego County Fair.
After high school I went to Jr. college at Modesto Jr. College in the middle of California. There I studied Animal Science. During this time, I worked for an almond farmer where I learned about all types of equipment and farming practices. It was then I realized my passions for education, so I decided to make the move to Manhattan, Kansas. I am currently an Agricultural Education major at Kansas State University. I am excited to share my knowledge and passion for the agriculture industry with future generations of agriculturalists as a future high school educator.
